BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND! “Death Cafe” @ MIA – Liverpool Islamic Centre

The Death Cafe is quite different to the “Death and Dying” workshops presented at MIA, in the past. The Death Cafe aims to be a more relaxed discussion-based event that Sister Mariam facilitates for those who have questions and curiosities around end-of-life, death, and what happens between death and the afterlife. 

The main focus is to provide a non-threatening space for people to share their experiences with death, ask questions about anything and everything to do with end-of-life in the hope that the answers will help to reduce the unnecessary fear and anxiety around the topic. 

We focus more on the metaphysical journey of the soul and what awaits the righteous Muslim after death, rather than the physical death of the body and what happens to our remains.

 We can have the attendees’ questions guide the discussion for the first part, then take a MORNING TEA break, and return for some sharing of experiences and stories. The grieving process has very important stages that will be discussed as well. Inshallah  we can all learn from each other’s experiences.

Please book in early and allow time for parking which is always a problem.
